The Steelers have named Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback for Saturday’s Week 16 matchup against the Bengals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Kenny Pickett has been ruled out.
Rudolph will make his first start of the season, taking over duties from Mitch Trubisky. The 2018 third-rounder previously filled in during garbage time of the Steelers’ 30—13 loss to the Colts last Saturday, completing 2-of-3 passes for three yards.
Pittsburgh's upcoming division rivalry game against Cincinnati will mark Pickett's third absence since he injured his ankle in an early December defeat to the Cardinals.
The Steelers are on a three-game losing streak and currently sit at the bottom of the AFC North with a 7—7 record.
