There’s no denying the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a tough spot this season. They have four games left to play and will play three of those over a 10-day stretch.
First up is a tough road showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. This is followed by the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs. In terms of must-win, there’s no doubt beating the Ravens is the most important game in this stretch.
However, there’s no way the Steelers are going to look past this week’s game intentionally because of the Ravens game on the horizon. Could it happen unintentionally? Perhaps. But some have suggested the Steelers treat this week’s game like a glorified preseason game and that just can’t happen.
If the Steelers beat the Eagles this weekend, they clinch a playoff birth. This is reason enough to play to win the game. Pride is another. There’s no way head coach Mike Tomlin wants to give a game away, especially this interstate showdown. Pittsburgh is undefeated against teams with winning records this season and that is another great reason to play hard and try to win this one.
