According to NFL Gameday, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday Night Football, backup running back Jaylen Warren is going to see an expanded role in the offense.
The Steelers run game has been abysmal through two games. Starter Najee Harris has 74 rushing yards and Warren only has 26 yards. However, Warren is tied for the team lead with nine receptions and is second on the team with 78 receiving yards.

Should this move come to fruition, it is likely in response to just how poorly the Pittsburgh offensive line has played. Warren’s ability to create without the benefit of great blocking is superior to Harris and Warren gives the Steelers a better chance for splash plays.
We expect to see the game dictate this more than anything else. If the Steelers can come out and establish the run and don’t fall behind early, Harris and Warren could split reps. But if the Raiders get an early lead, Warren’s ability as a receiver could keep him on the field.
