One of the frontrunners for the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager is their current pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt. But according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, Hunt is leaving his options open. He is reporting Hunt interviewed for the Buffalo Bills assistant general manager vacancy.
Hunt has been with the Steelers since 2010 and by all accounts is beloved by the team. However, if he is interviewing for a lesser position with another team, it could be a hint that he is no longer in the running for the Steelers GM job.
Pittsburgh has interviewed a long list of candidates to replace Kevin Colbert. Colbert plans to step down and wanted to stick around for one last draft.
#Bills GM Brandon Beane interviewed #Steelers Pro Scouting Coordinator Brandon Hunt for the vacant assistant GM job formerly held by Joe Schoen, source said. Hunt, who is well-regarded, is also in the mix for the Steelers GM job.
