Since its opening in 2001, the Pittsburgh Steelers home stadium has been Heinz Field. Now in 2022, this could all change. The naming rights agreement between the Steelers and Kraft Heinz is up.
However, Pittsburgh president Art Rooney II feels optimistic the name will stay the same. Rooney did an interview on Thursday and he talked about the naming rights and said the two sides are talking about extending the agreement. The original agreement was a 20-year agreement for $57 million. Pittsburgh signed a one-year extension with Kraft Heinz for the 2021 season as well. If the Steelers get a better offer from a different sponsor, we could see a name change starting in 2022.
Heinz Field replaced Three Rivers Stadium which was the home of the Steelers from 1970 to 2000.
Will Heinz Field be Heinz Field next season?
