Steelers players had Steve Smith Sr. ready to unretire after they got too close to him and NFL fans thought it was hilarious

Nobody messed with Steve Smith Sr. on the football field, man. If there was a dude who was as tough as nails in the NFL, it was him.

This is a dude who threatened to beat up Santa Claus if he came down his chimney. A dude who trash-talked a rookie Baker Mayfield during an interview just because. He is here for the shenanigans.

So it was no surprise what his reaction was when Steelers players got a little too close to him during his live shot ahead of the game with NFL Network. Let’s just say the final touchdown of the game wasn’t going to be the only bad beat of the night.

They had Smith ready to come out of retirement, y’all.

“I tell you what…if one of these boys hit me while I ain’t in a uniform they will not be playing tonight. I’ll tell you that…They want me to come out of retirement. They don’t want that.”

YO. Tell em, Steve. The funny part about this is he’s dead serious. Look at the caption of the tweet. “I’m just speaking facts.” Also, look at his face.

Does that look like the face of a man who is here to play? Does it look like this man is here for games? It absolutely does not. He is, in the words of Marshawn Lynch, bout dat action, boss. The Steelers players were clearly about to find out.

This was hilarious. Fans thought this was great. Smith? Probably not so much.
