ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter is reporting the new three-year contract offensive tackle Chuks Okorafor is signing with the Steelers is three years for $29.25 million, including $20.5 million in the first two seasons.
Okorafor has been the Steelers starting right tackle for the past two seasons. He hasn’t been elite by any means, especially against the run but was rock solid as a pass protector.
Okorafor’s $9.75 million per season puts him near the bottom in terms of average salary per season among starting NFL offensive tackles. This level of financial commitment tells me this team has all the offensive tackles they want with Dan Moore starting on the left and Zach Banner, Joe Haeg and John Leglue behind them.
Steelers are giving their right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor a three-year, $29.25 million deal, including $20.5 million in first two years, per source.
