Steelers OT Broderick Jones confident if he gets the start vs the Browns

On Friday, Pittsburgh Steelers starting right tackle Chuks Okorafor was limited at practice as he remains in the concussion protocol. With the team’s Monday Night Football showdown coming up against the Cleveland Browns, it feels more and more like it will be rookie offensive tackle Broderick Jones getting the starter.

And it sounds like Jones is ready if he gets the call. Jones spoke to the media on Friday and sounded ready to go and looks forward to the challenge of potentially lining up against Cleveland edge rusher Myles Garrett.

“I feel like it’s an opportunity for me to showcase what I can do, just being able to get to work with somebody as good as him, and the whole front of the Browns,” Jones said. “They have a lot of good talent up front. They don’t spend all that money for no reason. There’s some talent up there on both sides. I feel like it’ll be a good challenge for me and a way for me to showcase my athleticism and what I can do.”

Jones has been working on the right side in Okorafor’s absence. At some points in training camp and the preseason, starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. was sliding to the right side when Jones would come in. But Jones is more comfortable on the right having played multiple positions at the University of Georgia.
