Steelers OC Matt Canada has no answers for how to score more points

The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has been a real disappointment this season. Even with the change at quarterback there was plenty of optimism with so much talent at the skill positions and offensive coordinator Matt Canada finally getting to run “his” offense without Ben Roethlisberger involved.

Things have no gone according to plan as the Canada offense has been miserable and is really struggling to put points on the board. A fact Canada recognizes but clearly has no answer for as he just throws it back on the league as if it is a struggle for every team so it’s ok the Steelers are 30th in the NFL in scoring. I guess since two teams are worse, it makes it ok.

“I know we have to score more points, and that’s my only focus,” Canada said. “It’s hard to score. It’s hard for everybody, but that doesn’t matter. You have to find ways to score touchdowns. Every offense across the league is trying to do that.”

Pittsburgh is averaging 16.2 points per game. There are 11 teams averaging fewer than 20 points per game. There’s no excuse for the futility of the Steelers offense. Hopefully Canada has some answers this weekend against the Miami Dolphins. Right now, Canada is doing less with more than any other OC in the NFL.
