The New York Jets have landed wide receiver Davante Adams in the biggest non-shocker of the trade period. He’ll reunite with Aaron Rodgers and attempt to bring some life to an offense that’s statistically worse than the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jets got Adams for a steal — a conditional third-round pick that can become a second based on performance — according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Given the Steelers’ lackadaisical movement in acquiring a top-tier receiver, it’s doubtful they were ever truly in the running for Adams’ services.
We’ll see how quickly Adams’ “hamstring injury” heals whether he suits up for the prime-time showdown on Sunday night.
The Steelers host the Jets in the first of two prime-time matchups before their Week 9 bye.
It’s a conditional 3rd rounder going to the #Raiders that can become a 2nd rounder based on performance.
