Alex Highsmith and Bud Dupree only spent one season together as members of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was Highsmith’s rookie season and Dupree’s final season before heading off to the Tennessee Titans as a free agent. But now Dupree is back on the market and according to Highsmith, adding Duree back would be a “three-headed monster.” Highsmith appeared on the House of Yinz podcast and talked about the potential return of his former teammate.
Dupree parlayed his two best NFL seasons into a big free-agent contract with Tennessee. Unfortunately, like so many players who leave the Steelers, has never been able to recreate that level of success. Coming back to the Steelers could inject life right back into his career. Dupree as a three-man rotation with Highsmith and T.J. Watt would go a long way toward getting the Steelers pass rush back on track.
