On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they have hired Pat Meyer to be the new offensive line coach. Meyer will replace Adrian Klemm who left near the end of the regular season to take a job at the University of Oregon.
Meyer is well-traveled in the NFL having coached in some capacity since 2013. Most recently he spent the past two seasons as the Carolina Panthers offensive line coach and the three seasons before that he did the same for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Prior to his time in the NFL, Meyer was the offensive line coach for eight seasons. He got his start in the coaching ranks as a strength and conditioning coach.
Some fans had been hopeful the Steelers could try to lure former Pittsburgh offensive line coach Mike Munchak away from Denver but Meyer gives the Steelers a new face and a solid pedigree to help mold this young offensive line.
