In a move most expected to happen, the Pittsburgh Steelers have cut linebacker Myles Jack per ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter. This is on the heels of the news that the Steelers are signing former Miami Dolphins linebacker Elandon Roberts to a two-year contract.
Jack led the Steelers in tackles last season but still underperformed overall given his reputation. Coupled with a huge salary cap number and this was an easy choice for the Steelers. Cutting Jack now saves the Steelers $8 million in salary cap this season and puts $3.25 million in dead money on the books.
The Steelers have already lost Robert Spillane to free agency and Devin Bush is the next to go. This means the Steelers top three inside linebackers from 2022 are all off the roster and must be replaced.
