According to NFL reporter Neil Stratton, Pittsburgh Steelers Assistant Director of Pro Scouting Dave Petett has left the team after his contract ended. Petett has been with the Steelers in their scouting department for more than 20 years.
Since taking over as general manager, Omar Khan has made multiple changes in the scouting department. A case could be made that the Steelers 2023 NFL draft class was better than any from former general manager Kevin Colbert in the last decade.
The Steelers are currently down at the Reese’s Senior Bowl scouting prospects and are being led by Khan and head coach Mike Tomlin.
The #Steelers & Asst Director of Pro Scouting Dave Petett have parted ways as his contact has ended. Petett, who played DT for @LehighFootball, spent 2 decades with Pittsburgh.
Teams often allow scouts to depart early in the draft process so they can latch on quickly elsewhere.

If the Steelers can do as well in 2024 as they did in 2023 with their draft haul, this team could be highly competitive in the upcoming season.
