The Washington Commanders meet the New York Giants on Sunday in a rematch from Week 7. On that day, the Commanders were coming off a Week 6 win over the Atlanta Falcons to improve to 3-3 and looked to get back on track against a wounded and struggling Giants team.
However, as has often happened under head coach Ron Rivera, Washington got off to a miserable start and never recovered, falling 14-7. That was the last time Washington’s offense struggled, but the defense, that’s another story.
The Commanders are so bad defensively that they traded edge rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat after the Week 8 loss to the Eagles, and Washington hasn’t really missed them.
