The Washington Commanders (4-11) return home to FedEx Field to host the San Francisco 49ers (11-4) in Week 17. Washington made a quarterback change on Wednesday, naming Jacoby Brissett the new starter — at least for Sunday’s game.
Unfortunately for the Commanders, they’ll face an angry 49ers team coming off a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day.
The 49ers remain the prohibitive NFC favorite, having won six in a row before Monday’s loss. San Francisco has a loaded roster featuring quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and defensive end Nick Bosa. And, of course, two former Washington players, Trent Williams and Chase Young, return to FedEx Field on Sunday.
Now, let’s review the stats and see how these teams compare to one another ahead of Week 17.
