The "Great Wealth Transfer" is continuing its historic sweep across the American economy in 2026. According to recent estimates, older generations (mainly baby boomers) are expected to transfer $124 trillion to younger generations and charities by 2048, with $2.5 trillion getting passed down this year alone.
And all that wealth could be subject to the tax man.
