A statement has been released by the North West Ambulance Service after an air ambulance landed near a rock climbing gym.
Athol Street in Liverpool was full of emergency service vehicles on Saturday, March 4, following an incident inside Clip and Climb, also known as Awesome Walls. Merseyside Police, the North West Ambulance Service and the North West Air Ambulance Charity were called to the scene at 2.26pm.
An air ambulance landed on Great Howard Street as a number of parents and young children were seen leaving the climbing gym. North West Ambulance Service has now confirmed they were called to the scene to give a man in his 50s medical assistance.

He was taken to hospital by land ambulance, which eyewitnesses said had a police escort.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service said: "We attended to a patient who required medical assistance following a call at 14.26. A man in his 50s was taken to hospital by road."
A spokesperson from the North West Air Ambulance Charity said: “We can confirm that the North West Air Ambulance Charity were called to an incident in that area. The incident occurred on private property.”
There are no details on the nature of the incident or the condition of the man involved.
