Officials have explained the reason why a police plane was circling over Nottinghamshire. The aircraft could be spotted on a real-time flight tracking service at around 7pm on Monday, February 27.
The plane, which belongs to the National Police Air Service (NPAS), was spotted by residents on the Flightradar24 app - an internet-based service that shows real-time aircraft flight tracking information on a map. It was mainly circling above Nottingham and Hucknall, according to the tracking app.
After being approached by Nottinghamshire Live, NPAS said that the plane was assisting in the search for a high-risk missing person. It said the aircraft spent 51 minutes in the area.
