Paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) have explained the reason police cars and an ambulance were spotted in Nottingham City Centre. The emergency service vehicles could be seen in Old Market Square at around 1pm on Friday, April 29.
Both police and the ambulance service attended the scene and could be seen parked outside the old Debenhams building. Confirming the reason for the presence, EMAS said they were responding to a "medical emergency".
Paramedics said one crewed ambulance had been deployed after receiving a call at 12.39pm and that on patient was taken to Queen's Medical Centre. A spokesman said: “We received a call at 12.39pm on 29 April to Old Market Square in Nottingham. The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a crewed ambulance and one patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre.”
