WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden said on Tuesday night that if China threatens US sovereignty, US will act to protect the country.
"Make no mistake: as we made clear last week, if China’s threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country. And we did. And let’s be clear: winning the competition with China should unite all of us" Joe Biden said in his state of the union address.
Biden's remark become significant in the backdrop of the US shooting down a Chinese spy ballon flying over its sky. US lawmakers have raised a number of questions about whether the balloon was able to collect intelligence and transmit it back to China during the time it traveled eastward across the United States, after crossing the border from Canada into Idaho.
