Starstruck's Jason Manford confirms ITV show's fate before series finale

Jason Manford gave a not so subtle hint as to what will happen with Starstruck, before the new talent show aired its grand final on Saturday.

After lots of hype at the start of the year, ITV viewers were curious as to what Starstruck would be like and it became one of the most talked about topics on Twitter within minutes of its first episode starting back in February. Likened to classic programme Stars in their Eyes, Starstruck sees super fans and soundalikes of world famous music icons battle it out in threes to impress the judges.

Over the past few months there have been trios of a whole host of big names, from Cher to Harry Styles and Celine Dion to Billie Eilish. At the end of every show, the judges decide which group of doppelgängers are the best, before choosing one of them to go through to the final.

Comedian Jason has been on the Starstruck panel alongside Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight and on Saturday night, they will case a final eye over the cream of the Starstruck panel as soundalikes of megastars like Lionel Richie and Barbra Streisand go for victory.

The show has become a big guilty pleasure for millions of viewers every weekend and, the good news for fans, is it looks like there will definitely be a second series. It was judge Jason who have the game away earlier this week when he posted a flyer inviting applications for the next series on his Instagram grid.

Next to it, he wrote: "you reckon you could sing like your idol on the next series of Starstruck then why not put your money where your mouth is and enter." Swift to respond, one of his followers commented: "At least we know we can look forward to another series."

A second reacted: "I wish but I will just watch instead as long as the next series has you as a judge."
