Sir Keir Starmer has hit out at Donald Trump's threats to wipe out “a whole civilisation” in the Iran war. The British prime minister questioned Mr Trump’s values ahead of a state visit to the US by King Charles later this month and at a delicate time in the war, as doubts grow over whether the fragile ceasefire will hold.
Speaking to ITV’s Robert Peston, Sir Keir said: “Let me be really clear about this: they are not words I would use, ever use, because I come at this with our British values and principles.”
