Stark warning as dog food urgently recalled for containing pieces of metal

Dog owners are being warned to avoid feeding their pet a beef food product as it may be unsafe for dogs to eat.

Dog food manufacturer Encore has recalled its Beef Selection in Gravy multipack dog food as the Beef Steak with Potatoes in Gravy tin could potentially have small pieces of metal in.

Sharp or pointy objects can potentially perforate dog's intestines, and immediate veterinary care should always be sought if you suspect your dog has eaten even small bits of metal.

Customers who have purchased the product have been advised to not give it to their pet, and instead return it to the store where they bought it for a refund.
