All UK households who pay energy bills have been hit with a stark warning as costs could continue to jump up considerably.
Based on previous figures, experts at BOXT have predicted how much the running of common household appliances could cost by 2032, and it makes for some bleak reading.
For example, tumble drying currently costs around £1.80 per load, based on a rate of £0.34 per kWh, but it is predicted that this cost will rise to £4.63 per cycle in just nine years' time.

Similarly, taking a 10-minute shower using an electric shower could cost around 50p per day. BOXT estimates this could jump to around £1.28 by 2032.
And based on year-on-year increases, BOXT predicts the average cost of household energy bills in 2032 will be £5,848. The figures were produced by looking at the price increase in bills in the past ten years.
It was found that there is an average year-on-year increase of 9%. The biggest increase was seen between 2021 and 2022.
In this year, there was a 74% increase in the price of household bills, coinciding with the increase in energy costs.
