One of the great things about going to a Starbucks (SBUX) -) is that you can generally expect the vibe to be more or less the same, no matter which location you visit.
The lights will be dim -- though not too dark, for those who like to work. The signature and seasonal roasts and flavors will be illuminated on the menus hanging above, with myriad selections and additions to make any order complicated (or, as the brand sees it, perfect).

And, of course, a melodic tune will be whispering -- not blasting -- through the speakers. Music at Starbucks and other cafes has gotten so popular that it's earned itself a genre: Coffee House (channel 6 on SiriusXM in your car).
No wonder, then, that so many people opt to work at a Starbucks each day instead of at their homes or offices. Go to any location at most times of the day and you'll see more than a few folks curled up with their laptops, working on an expense report, slide deck, thesis paper, or their latest novel.
Starbucks is revered partly because it the stores are conducive to hard work. Staff doesn't distract, bother, or kick out well-behaved customers for taking a few extra minutes at the table with a daily crossword.
Starbucks turns it up a notch
Other than its academic types, Starbucks has another rabidly devoted fanbase: the Taylor Swift devotees, known as Swifties.
So the coffee shop has decided to celebrate Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour by creating a playlist of all 122 Swift songs that participating locations can play nonstop.
The chain also created a list of 10 available coffee drinks based on each of Swift's smash albums -- you know, for the buzz.

This week Swift performed her final U.S. show of the current tour at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles. She'll move on to international venues starting Aug. 24, taking her to Latin America, Asia, Australia and Europe. In 2024 she'll return to North America for another tour.
Starbucks told TMZ that it was really fond of "the kindness and joy that her tour is bringing to the world." Starbucks insiders also disclosed that the corporate team is a big fan of Swift's work.
Of course, not everyone may be fans of this. After all, many people go to Starbucks to work, and it is a little harder to concentrate on a term paper with "Blank Space" blasting through the speakers than it is with a soft melodic piano sonata.
