If there’s one thing I love about summer, it's the new menu launches bringing variety to my on-to-go lunch options. And Starbucks has just become my go-to for a bite to eat over the six-week holidays..
The coffee chain is best known for their inventive drinks, having recently released two brand new Frappuccinos: the Passionfruit Raspberry and the Banana Split.
But it’s their new culinary creations that have caught my attention this month, because Starbucks are now serving PIZZA. Take. My. Money.

Move over Domino’s, Pizza Hut and PizzaExpress, you’ve got competition. The new menu items launched in store on July 7, so I headed over to give them a try and see if I would be spending all of my wages in their drive-thru for the foreseeable future. And I probably will.
The two pizza options come in the form of the Mozzarella and Tomato Pizzetta and the Chorizo and Red Pepper Pizzetta. A pizzetta is, quite simply, a small pizza designed to be a finger food - but let’s face it, pizza is finger food regardless of size.
The Mozzarella and Tomato Pizzetta comes in at £5.19 and is a pizza base topped with tomato, mozzarella, tomato sauce, cheddar cheese and parsley. Meanwhile, for those who prefer meat on their pizza, there’s the Chorizo and Red Pepper Pizzetta for the same price, made with pizza base, smoky red pepper, tomato and chilli sauce layered with chorizo, cheddar cheese and mozzarella.
Fans of a deep pan pizza will particularly enjoy these pizzetta’s because the base is rather chunky and doughy. They’re ideal for a picky tea, but also have a somewhat nostalgic element, reminiscent of the pizza’s I used to get from the canteen in high school.
The Chorizo and Red Pepper Pizzetta was my favourite, and I like that the meat option is no more expensive than the meat-free. I love anything with chorizo on it - it just makes every dish at least 20 per cent more exciting.
As well as the pizzetta’s, there’s a brand new Smoked Turkey and West Country Cheddar Cheese Sandwich, costing £3.30. Ideal if you’re looking for something filling but on the healthier side, this sandwich consists of smoked turkey with ranch style mayo, West Country Cheddar cheese, pickled slaw, tomatoes and lettuce in seeded bread. The sandwich comes packaged so you can eat it immediately or save it for later, and is perfect if you’re planning a little picnic while the weather is nice.
And Starbucks couldn’t launch a new menu without adding a delicious new cake to the line up. Introducing the Pistachio and Raspberry loaf cake, which costs a pretty reasonable £2.29. Typically, I’m not a fan of nutty flavours, but this pistachio and almond loaf cake, finished with a tangy raspberry drip icing, is to die for. The cake is extremely moist, and decorated with nibbed pistachio nuts and freeze-dried raspberry pieces.
The cake itself is really pretty. Pink and pistachio are having a bit of a moment in the fashion world, too, so this slice of sugary goodness is perfect for Instagram.
The new items are available in Starbucks now and are available via Deliveroo, Just Eat and UberEats, but what do you want to try first?
