Multiple "Star Wars" games have been released through the years, but not all have been a hit for fans and critics alike.
The latest "Star Wars" game, "Star Wars Zero Company," has already been in the market for nearly a month. Has it fallen to the dark side or has it basked in the glow of the light?
'Star Wars Zero Company'
Released on August 27, 2026, "Star Wars Zero Company" is developed by Bit Reactor and published by Electronic Arts.
It is a turn-based tactics video game set during the Clone Wars.
According to StarWars.com, the game follows the story of Hawks, a former Republic officer and the leader of Zero Company, a squad tasked with investigating an emerging threat that could consume the galaxy if left unchecked.
It should be noted that the game features an original Clone Wars story that lets players take part in tactical operations and investigations across the galaxy.

What Do the Critics Say?
What do the critics think of the latest "Star Wars" game? PC Gamer's Ted Litchfield gave it a score of 90, noting that the game "has been a treat from beginning to end."
"Minor issues aside, 'Star Wars Zero Company' is one of the best games of 2026 and a new all-timer 'Star Wars' videogame," Litchfield added.
As for Metacritic, the game has a score of 85 based on 63 critic reviews as of press time.
Gamers Heroes gave the game a score of 100, saying that "'Star Wars Zero Company' is, simply put, the greatest tactics game in the galaxy."
"Creating a story worthy of the 'Star Wars' franchise, this tactics title delivers the very best in combat the genre has to offer, wrapping it up in a cinematic delivery of the highest order," Gamers Heroes explained.
Press Start Australia says the game is "an incredible debut title from Bit Reactor" and gave it a score of 90.
'Very Positive' Reviews on Steam
Over on Steam, "Star Wars Zero Company" has more than 20,000 user reviews as of press time. Steam has categorized these reviews as "Very Positive."
"Pleasantly surprised with this one," Steam user Oenomaus said in a review. "Went in expecting 'Star Wars X-Com' at the very least, which was delivered, but I didn't expect the story to be as good as it was."
"This is more of a middle thumbs up," Syncroniam said in a separate Steam review. "It's good for one playthrough at least, I say this as a person that doesn't care about the 'XCOM' playstyle."
"The story, characters, and dialogue are surprisingly pretty decent," Syncroniam added. "The gameplay itself can get pretty repetitive and tedious especially with the terrible reinforcement system that they have in place just to bog you down."
