Star Trek: Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas expressed his desire to include more Star Trek cameos in the latest season, particularly from Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. While the focus remained on Admiral Jean-Luc Picard and the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, several characters from other Star Trek series made surprise appearances in Picard season 3.

Among the notable cameos were Captain Tuvok from Voyager, Commander Ro Laren, Admiral Elizabeth Shelby, and the omnipotent Q from TNG. Matalas had originally planned for even more Star Trek legacy characters to cameo in the season 3 finale, envisioning a grand gathering akin to 'Star Trek Avengers: Endgame.'
