Star Trek fans are being invited to get an enterprising new hairdo inspired by their favourite character at a pop-up salon. Think Captain Janeway, Kirk, Seven of Nine, La’an Noonien Singh, Christopher Pike, Uhura, Janice Rand or, of course, Spock.
It's Star Trek Day this Thursday and to celebrate, streaming service Paramount+ has opened the pop-up salon in Brighton. Aptly-named Short, Back and Enterprise, the salon will see a crack team of hair stylists from nearby Atomik ready to cut style and shave hair like any of the main characters on Thursday and Friday between 10am and 6pm. For free.
New research, commissioned by the streaming service, found Spock’s five-point haircut, styled by Vidal Sassoon, to be the most iconic hairstyle from the Star Trek franchise. The lovely locks of Captain Janeway came in second.
A spokesperson from Paramount+ said: "We wanted to give something back to our fans this Star Trek Day. And with a quarter of people admitting to having their hairstyle influenced by the Star Trek The Next Generation franchise alone, we thought the pop up hair salon would be perfect.”
Short, Back & Enterprise can be found at the Market Street Store, 56 Market Street, Brighton, BN1 1HH. People can sign up for an appointment here.
