Johnny Smacks has spilled the beans on his upcoming festive wedding to long-term girlfriend Annie.
The couple were forced to postpone their big day three times due to the pandemic restrictions, but they are gearing up to get married in "enemy territory" this December.
The Tipperary man, whose real second name is McMahon, is one half of dynamic TV and podcast duo The 2 Johnnies.
Johnny told RSVP Live: "We are getting married in Cahir and then onto Kilkenny. We are going into enemy territory for the reception. I am sure they will look after us down there.
"My Mrs has a big family so the small numbers weren’t doable for us. My friends like the craic too much so I couldn’t tell them the wedding was over at 8 or 9 o’clock.
"That would be no good to them. We hopefully will only do this once so we want to do it right."
As expected Johnny has enlisted his best friend and co-star Johnny B to be his best man when he gets hitched in ten months time.
The 35 year old jokes: "Having that lunatic as my best man is probably the biggest risk I have ever taken in my life. Nobody knows me better than him so he will have all the inside gossip."
He added: "People will need seatbelts on their ears when that man gets going with his speech."
Annie doesn't pay much attention to Johnny's fast rise to online stardom, but she has always been a great support to him.
He said: "She takes it all in her stride because she was going out with me when I wasn’t able to pay the tax on my car.
"Annie was with me when I was working as a butcher in town. She has been there since the start so that helps.
"If I tell her I have to go to America for two months, she gets it and knows that is the nature of the beast. Once I am happy, she is happy."
The 2 Johnnies' online fame has seen them move from Instagram content and podcasts to fronting TV shows on RTÉ and filling in for Jennifer Zamparelli on 2fm. They are also rumoured to be getting their own show this year.
Johnny said: "When we started on television people used to say ‘Oh, they are the guys from the internet’.
"People might find it hard to cross over from social media to television but we were never fussed. We were happy doing what we were doing.
"We were making the content we liked and obviously somebody in RTÉ liked it too.
"A lot of it comes down to ratings and we have had two series and Christmas specials and they have all rated well. If you don’t rate, I am sure they wouldn’t be long putting you in the bin."
But with success comes trolling and negativity on social media, but that goes over his head.
Johnny said: "We don’t mind that because it is a reflection of them and not us. And if we keep getting these jobs it means someone likes us."
