Richie Stanaway has been handed a Supercars career lifeline, joining the PremiAir Nulon Racing team from 2025.
Stanaway will join James Golding as retiring driver Tim Slade's replacement after being dumped by Grove Racing in July.
Returning to the sport after walking away in 2019, the 32-year-old seemed destined to miss out on a full-time seat next season after Grove opted against renewing his contract, signing Super2 champion Kai Allen.
An impressive Bathurst 1000 win last year with Shane van Gisbergen had earned him the drive at Grove before the team decided to pull the plug after just seven rounds this season.
Stanaway is 17th in the championship standings, while his young Grove teammate Matt Payne is sixth with one race win, four podiums and two pole positions.
PremAir's Golding is fifth after claiming one pole position and one podium finish across 20 races this season. Slade is 19th.
Stanaway finished ninth with co-driver Dale Wood at the Bathurst 1000 on Sunday after qualifying fourth.
"I could not be more excited about this opportunity to join PremiAir Nulon Racing," Stanaway said.
"The passion and enthusiasm held by (team owners) Peter and Carmen Xiberras and the entire team is absolutely undeniable, and the commitment they have shown in the three short years they have been a part of the Supercars championship is impressive.
"The results of that are really starting to show with their first podium coming at Sandown, and I look forward to hopefully being a part of many more great results to come from next year."
