Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke today outlined his desire to win the biggest trophies after announcing a board restructure.
In what Arsenal describe as a “simple evolution” of the leadership structure of the club, Stan and Josh Kroenke have been made co-chairs and Tim Lewis is now executive vice-chair.
The trio have operated in those roles since Lewis joined the board in June 2020 but Arsenal wanted to provide clarity over the way they work at boardroom level.
Lewis has become an increasingly influential figure at Arsenal in recent years and has a strong relationship with manager Mikel Arteta.
Kroenke Sports and Entertainment took over full control of Arsenal in 2018 and the club says this move is “a recognition of how our leadership structure has evolved” in that period.
Stan Kroenke said: “This is a simple evolution as part of us all driving Arsenal forward and further reaffirms our family’s long-standing commitment to this great club.
“Stability in football has never been more important as we move past the pandemic, and we believe this is the perfect time to formalise these roles.
“Our objectives and ambition will never waver - to field teams that compete for trophies at the highest level and lead our club in a way that inspires our passionate supporters around the world.

Stan and Josh Kroenke are based in America, but Josh makes regular trips to London to watch Arsenal and hold meetings with key staff.
Lewis essentially operates as the Kroenkes’ man on the ground in England. He is involved in major decisions and relays information back to them in the States.
The final member of the Arsenal board is Lord Harris of Peckham, who has been on the board since 2005.
Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham will continue to head day-to-day running of the club, working alongside director of football operations Richard Garlick and sporting director Edu.
