Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has hailed Stan Kroenke for his success in the USA following their 104-93 NBA Finals victory over Miami Heat.
The Kroenke's Nuggets are on course to clinch their first ever NBA title after winning this year's Western Conference. Their dreams of lifting the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy were handed a boost on Thursday with a convincing victory over a disappointing Miami side.
In their first finals game for 47 years, the Nuggets never looked like losing in front of their home crowd at the Ball Arena. Nikola Jovic was the standout player with a triple-double - double figures in points, assists and rebounds.

In 2021, Kroenke won the NFL Super Bowl with his Los Angeles Rams before overseeing a NHL Stanley Cup win with his Colorado Avalanche the following year. Should the Nuggets defeat Miami in the best-of-seven series, the Gunners' owner will become the first to win all three major North American Sports titles.
"In two years, the Kroenke's have won a Super Bowl, have won a Stanley Cup and they're in a position to win an NBA Championship," Payton, recently appointed as the Broncos' new head coach by Kroenke, said. "It's good to be a Kroenke the last two years."
Fans in England will be hoping to receive their share of Kroenke's success next season. Arsenal fell short of winning the Premier League this season after leading the way for three quarters of the season.
"It was one of my big dreams to connect again with the soul of this football club - that's our people," manager Mikel Arteta said.
"We have done that and there’s no discussion about it. That makes me really proud and grateful to be part of that journey together. We want to deliver together success, and the destination has to be trophies and success for this club. But we have to enjoy the journey together and especially the company.
"I said it especially there because we have special people in this club, an incredible group of players and an amazing support. That has to be enjoyed because at the end it’s about winning or not winning the margin, but you cannot underestimate those other things. I think if we don’t do it then we will regret it."
