Award-winning series, Staged, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant is returning for a third series. The Lockdown show, which premiered in 2020, will return to screens on Britbox UK on Thursday, November 24. There will be six new half-hour episodes.
Staged's first series saw David and Michael play fictionalised versions of themselves, trying to rehearse a play during lockdown via videoconference Zoom, while underconfident director, Simon Evans, struggles to keep control of the production. A follow-up series, which was released in 2021, saw the "real" David and Michael after the success of the first series of Staged.
A synopsis reveals: "In the third series, things have returned to normal for David and Michael and they have moved on from lockdown and returned to their everyday working life, while Simon’s career remains stagnant. His phone does ring, but only to ask if he can get David and Michael back together; and they’ve made it clear they want nothing more to do with him.
