Staff member assaulted at Nottingham betting shop

Nottinghamshire Police response officers investigating an assault at a Nottingham betting shop have issued a CCTV image and are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man. Police received reports of a man being aggressive to staff in the Betfred store, Radford Road, on 19 May 2023, shortly before 7.55pm.

One member of staff was left with a cut to her eye after a coin tray was pushed into her face. Following CCTV inquiries, investigating officers are now asking for help to identify a man, pictured, as they believe he could help them with their investigation.

PC Sarah Gooch, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We’re continuing to investigate what happened in the store, but we now need your help to identify the person in this image as we believe he could have information that could piece together exactly why the victim came to harm.

“I want to appeal to anyone who knows who this man to come forward and speak to us or make an anonymous report – your help could help us understand exactly what happened.”

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 813 of 19 May 2023, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
