Stacey Solomon shares top tip to help people save cash on energy

Stacey Solomon has tried to help people save money amid the energy crisis.

Utility bills are set to rise for most households by 54% as from today as the energy price cap rises. For some, energy bills will be costing an extra £700 per year.

The TV presenter has shown that it's not just normal people who are being effected by the price increases. She took to Instagram to share that she was also experiencing higher bills and looking for ways to save money herself.

After speaking to her own energy provider, the mum-of-four decided to pass on her new knowledge to her fans who may be struggling with finances. Creating a video montage about her day at home, she shared how she was getting her washing done.

Stacey wrote: "I know loads of peoples energy bills have gone up ridiculously. Mine has too. I was speaking to my provider and they said there are 'peak hours' when using electric so I'm trying to use the machines outside of those hours and hang dry when I can. I'll let you all know if it makes a difference to the next bill. "

But then the star was inundated with messages from fans asking for more information on the 'peak hours'. She made a video to address the comments. The 32-year-old said that she literally just spoke to the lady on the phone and she told her that it will be different for each tariff and to speak to your own provider.

Stacey captioned the video: "Omg soooo many of you are asking me about 'peak hours' for utilities. It's so hard for so many people right now! I am no expert, I just asked my provider. I think it will depend on what tariff you're on so speak to you provider and maybe it could make a difference."

She added: "The lady I spoke to from our provider gave me certain 'off peak' hours and said as long as I never put a load on and leave it to go to bed (always make sure you're up until it finishes because it's a fire risk) then I should try to use the machines within the off peak hours and I should see a difference. But I'll keep you posted."
