Most people love feeling organised and inspired by de-cluttering content, and Stacey Solomon's new hit television show is just the tonic for that. Her new BBC series Sort Your Life Out follows the Loose Women panellist and her expert team as they organise some of the most cluttered homes in Britain.
Last week, Stacey and her team sought to help the Fall family. Mum Julia, dad Dan and their two children moved into their current home four years ago, and their clutter has been spiralling out of control ever since. Alongside their huge load of washing that had been mounting up, the family were keen to start fresh in an organised family sanctuary.
While Stacey and her team worked tirelessly to clean up the mess, they shared some nifty cleaning hacks to allow your own home to be as efficient as possible.
In a home that's mounted with clutter, it can be extremely easy for items to go missing. Cleaning expert Iwan Carrington explained how a popular household appliance could be adding to the common issue.
To help tackle the never-ending supply of dirty clothes, the Sort Your Life Out star tackled the family's washing machine filter.
The small compartment, which is advised to be cleaned at least four times at year, can often be forgotten about and put on the back foot.
However, without even realising, it could be homing the loose change that you could have sworn you left in your trouser pockets.
Iwan explained: "When we unscrew [the filter] liquid will often come out, so pop a little towel down."
He went on: "People often say that things go missing - well this can be somewhere where you find stuff in your home.
"Looks like we have a guitar pick," he said. "A £2 coin there!"
"This is one of those places you might just forget about every now and then so do check it! You never know what you might find."
