Stacey Solomon issued warning as career move with Reese Witherspoon revealed

News that TV personality and presenter Stacey Solomon will front a new project for actor and producer Reese Witherspoon's production company has been met with a warning. The former X Factor star is reported to be linking up with Reese's production company Hello Sunshine.

It was announced last month that Stacey will host home renovation show Bricking It. It's the first UK commission for the company, which was founded by Reese, 46. However, family-focused Stacey, 33, has been warned that pursuing a career stateside "can be hard", particularly when it comes to being away from family and friends who are still based in the UK.

According to a report in the Mirror, it has been suggested that the new venture could lead to opportunities for Stacey in the US. But she's now been warned by presenter Ross King, 60, about the difficulty of pursuing a career abroad.

Ross, who ITV Lorraine viewers may recognise as a US correspondent on the morning show, relocated from Scotland to Los Angeles more than two decades ago. Also a correspondent for Good Morning Britain, he has said that it can be challenging when it comes to family members and friends who live in the UK. Speaking to Closer magazine, Ross said he thinks Stacey could prove popular with US audiences. He said she's "very real" and added: "I could see a lot of doors opening for her."

Stacey is married to actor Joe Swash, 40. The couple are currently expecting their third child together. They are already parents to Rex, three, and Rose, one. Stacey also has sons Zachary, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships. Joe has son Harry, 15, from a previous relationship.

Although there is no suggestion that Stacey is interested in pursuing a career abroad, Ross continued by sharing some of the challenges - should she ever decide to do so. He said that to be successful stateside you have to be "tenacious" and "work hard". Ross said it can be "really daunting", adding that you have to take any setbacks and learn.

Ross continued by saying that it's "hard" because your family and friends may be in the UK. He added that he makes an effort to communicate with his loved ones constantly.

He told the outlet that he speaks to his sister several times a week and is in contact with pals. Ross however stated: "But I do really miss them and it can be hard."

It was announced last month that Stacey will present Bricking It on Channel 4. The show will see her help homeowners "who want to transform their home all by themselves".

She said about the project: "[I] find it so satisfying to build or repair around the house and it saves loads of money. I am beyond excited to work with Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine on their first ever UK project. It's a dream come true to share my DIY hacks with everyone at home."
