Stacey Dooley has shared one of her first pictures with her daughter, Minnie, since announcing her arrival into the world. The documentary announced that she and her boyfriend Kevin Clifton had become first-time parents to their baby girl last month.
The couple, who met back in 2018 on Strictly Come Dancing when Stacey was partnered with professional dancer Kevin, announced back in August that they were expecting their first child, three years after confirming their whirlwind romance months after the hit BBC show ended.
Announcing the arrival of their bundle of joy, Stacey or Kevin didn't share a picture of their newborn daughter but did share a sweet snap to confirm her safe arrival. Posting a picture of an envelope which read 'Minnie's parents' on Instagram, new mum Stacey wrote: "Our Daughter is here. My little masterpiece!"
She then added: "I'm COMPLETELY OBSESSED. Love you Minnie, Love you Kev." Kevin also echoed his partner's post, writing alongside the same image: "Our daughter is here," alongside a string of read heart emojis. "The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. So proud of u @sjdooley Love u Minnie , Love u Stace x," he added.
Stacey has since been offering little insights into life as a new mum and shared her first snap with her daughter to her Instagram. The TV personality could be seen donning an eye-catching tiger print coat over a grey matching loungewear set.
The new mum, who was also sporting a dark beanie hat and bright yellow sunglasses, was beaming as she gazed down at her baby girl who appeared to be donning her own tiger-inspired attire while being kept cosy and warm in a cream-checked jacket. Stacye simply captioned the post with a weary face emoji before adding the hashtag 'bffs', which is slang for 'best friends forever'.
While not showing her little one's face to the camera, Stacey also covered the background of her snap with a pink screen and wrote 'Mummy and Minnie' over the top. TV star Laura Jackson was among the first to respond, writing in the comments: "Mega mum. Mega Minnie."
Singer Pixie Lott, TV star Angela Scanlon and Strictly professional dancer Nancy Xu were also among the commenters as they shared strings of love heart eye emojis. And fans were also leaving sweet comments for Stacey.
@rosieclaire_xo said: "She will be your bestfriend forever, it’s the most amazing gift having a daughter." @bessieburnet shared: "Can't believe you're a mother now! Such a great role model for your little girl." @cuddledry added: "So so happy for you. She’s a lucky girl having such an amazing role model as her mama."
Stacey's social media post comes after she appeared on Michael McIntyre's Big Show on BBC One on Saturday night in an appearance filmed whilst she was still pregnant. The 35-year-old gave up her phone in a game of 'Send to All' and after some technical difficulties, comedian Michael sent a message to all of Stacey's contacts suggesting they needed an extreme makeover and that she was working on a TV show.
But during her chat with Michael, after he found a photo of her with Kevin, Stacey revealed the savage nickname her friends have for her due to her relationship with the professional dancer and theatre star. "You know what's funny, and I shouldn't say this but oh well. He's been married three times before, so my mates call me Anne of Cleves," she confessed while laughing.
Michael replied: "Fourth time lucky", with Stacey telling him: "That's not the phrase." The host then responded: "No, third time lucky- he should go back with her," which means his is referring to Kevin's ex-wife, Strictly dancer Karen Hauer. Laughing along, Stacey didn't seem to mind Michael's comment, saying: "She's quite nice, yeah."
