A rift between two rival gangs of former friends led to an innocent schoolgirl being gunned down as she waited for a bus home.
The 15-year-old was struck by one of six bullets fired by Rio Jones as he pursued an "enemy" through the streets of Toxteth on an electric bike. This shot passed through the plastic sheeting of the bus stop she was sat at and through the hood of her coat, into her neck and out of her chest.
She was left seriously injured as a result, suffering lung damage and three fractured vertebrae. The incident was the disturbing culmination of a series of attacks - including a stabbing, shootings and arson attacks - between feuding factions who were previously part of one and the same group.
