St Patrick's Day 2023 Dublin: Celebrate at Dublin Zoo with special snake exhibitions

St Patrick's Day is only a few days away - and when you're making plans, Dublin Zoo may not be the first thing to come to mind.

But they have plenty to offer over the weekend this year. According to legend and Irish folklore, St Patrick is known for driving all the snakes out of Ireland in the fifth century, and since since we have celebrated our patron saint of the anniversary of his death on March 17.

Although there is the annual St. Patrick's Day parade taking place in the city centre as well as local parades on across the county, taking a trip to Dublin Zoo could be a nice alternative to the crowds at these parades.

There will be a JD, a children's entertainer who will host two shows each afternoon and face painting on all day for anyone who wants to get involved in dressing up for the occasion on Friday and Saturday.

There will be the best Irish tunes on all day creating a fun family friendly atmosphere, as well as a special showcase of the animal at the centre of St Patricks Day celebrations: the snake.

There will be special talks throughout both days in The Zoorassic World. Dublin Zoo's in house reptile keeper will be on hand to answer any questions and give information about the snakes in the Zoo.

The Zoo will be open from 10am to 5pm both days and for more information you can visit their website.
