St Mirren are hoping to bolster their midfield next season with Larne star Fuad Sale.
The Buddies are understood to be keen on bringing the defensive midfielder, who is out of contract this summer, to Paisley.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Nigeria but raised in Dublin from an early age, was a key figure for Larne as they won their first Northern Irish Premiership title this season.
While that has given them a shot at next season’s Champions League qualifiers, it’s believed that won’t be an issue with the midfielder open to new options away from Inver Park.
St Mirren recruitment chief Martin Foyle brought Sale to manager Stephen Robinson’s attention and they are both hopeful of getting a deal over the line.
Forest Green are also interested in snapping up the combative midfielder, but a move to the Scottish Premiership is believed to be the player’s preferred choice.
Saints have also been linked with a loan move for Fulham striker Kieron Bowie.
The 20-year-old has spent this season at Northampton Town to pick up some vital experience in the English Football League Two.
The Scotland Under-21 international is highly rated by Fulham, who snapped him up from Raith Rovers in 2020, but may give him another opportunity of a loan spell next season.
