St Mirren are set to bolster their midfield with the addition of former Middlesbrough and Birmingham talent Caolan Boyd-Munce.
The 23-year-old is a free agent after leaving the Riverside Stadium in January in a bid to find more game time.
The Northern Ireland under-21 star has been training with the Buddies at Ralston over the last few weeks while the Paisley club ran the rule over the midfielder, who began his career in Belfast with Glentoran.
And despite interest from Stephen Robinson's former club Morecambe, he has decided to join the Saints as they look to cement an historic top-six finish. It is understood Boyd-Munce has joined on a deal until the end of the season, with an option to extend into next season.
The move will come as a timely boost to St Mirren, who lost key midfield stalwart Ethan Erhahon in the January transfer window to Lincoln City.
Robinson will hope the dynamic midfielder can help steer his side to a top half top flight finish this season, which would be the Buddies first since 1985.
