Airdrieonians have suffered a blow after striker Lewis Jamieson was recallled by parent club St Mirren.
The 20-year-old joined the Diamonds on a season-long loan in the summer but his stay at New Broomfield has been cut short after impressing in League One.
Jamieson netted eight goals in 19 appearances for the Diamonds and the Buddies have move to bring him back to Paisley ahead of schedule.
A statement from St Mirren read: "Lewis Jamieson has been recalled from his loan spell with Airdrieonians.
"The 20-year-old - who made his St Mirren debut in August 2020 - returns to the squad after a productive spell at the cinch League One side where he scored eight goals in 18 matches for the Diamonds.
"Lewis has also spent time on loan over the past two seasons with Clyde and Inverness Caledonian Thistle as part of his footballing development. "
Buddies boss Stephen Robinson said: "Lewis has been out and done well at that level. He's scored goals and now it's a case of bringing him back into the first-team environment again.
"He needs to get stronger and fitter and that's his challenge between now and the end of the season. He's certainly got a lot of talent and he's someone we want to work with and want to succeed.
"Now it's up to him because we'll give him all the tools to do that."
Airdrie are pushing for the promotion play-off places in League One and currently sit fifth in the table.
A statement from the Diamonds read: "We can confirm that striker Lewis Jamieson has been recalled from his loan deal by parent club St Mirren.
"Having scored eight goals in 19 appearances, Lewis leaves with our thanks for an important contribution during his short spell at Airdrie.
"We wish him all the very best with his future career."
