St Mirren chief in conspiracy blast after Rangers slurs as John Needham likes Andrew Dallas ‘Orange Lodge’ tweet

St Mirren chairman John Needham has 'liked' a social media post claiming that Andrew Dallas was operating VAR from an 'Orange Lodge' during Sunday's Premiership match against Celtic.

It was an incident-packed game in Paisley which Ange Postecoglou's Hoops side won 5-1. St Mirren went ahead through a Mark O'Hara penalty, given after referee David Dickinson consulted the monitor to look again at a Greg Taylor handball. He then judged Kyogo to have been fouled outside the box after initially giving a spot-kick when Charles Dunne pulled him down in a last man challenge and was sent off.

Dickinson's final call was to go to VAR and spot Alex Gogic's shirt pull on Oh inside the box, which the Celtic forward converted. It is not the first time Needham has caused controversy with his social media activity. Furious Rangers chiefs insisted in December 2021 that the St Mirren chairman was not fit for office after 'appalling' tweets about their club, eventually he was slapped with a £6000 SFA fine for posting a string of messaged targeting the Light Blues and their support.

Needham 'liked' a post on Twitter prior to the game with Celtic from the Black & White Army account. It read: "Another big game for us in the race for top 6 tomorrow.

"League leaders Celtic are in town as we face the champions at lunchtime in Paisley. David Dickinson will be the man in charge and Andrew Dallas will be on VAR from his orange lodge."

At the time of writing Needham has still liked the post. St Mirren have been contacted for comment.
