St. Louis Cardinals fans are currently witnessing the emergence of outfielder Victor Scott II, who has been called up to the major league team due to injuries to key players. Scott, a highly regarded prospect, brings blazing speed and exceptional defensive skills to the outfield.

Selected in the 5th round of the 2022 MLB draft, Scott signed with the Cardinals and received a signing bonus of $350,400. Known for his inherited speed from his track-running parents, Scott has showcased his talent in various leagues and games.

In the Arizona Fall League, Scott impressed with his speed, stealing 18 bases in 21 attempts and hitting .286 with an on-base percentage of .388. His speed was highlighted by running 31.3 feet per second, ranking among the fastest in the league.

Scott's offensive prowess was evident in the minor leagues, where he stole an impressive 94 bases in 108 attempts across Class-A Advanced and Double-A. He hit .303 with 20 doubles, 10 triples, and nine home runs, showcasing his well-developed swing mechanics and bat control.

Defensively, Scott's speed allows him to cover ground efficiently in the outfield. His ability to track balls off the bat and take effective routes make him a plus-plus defensive center fielder.

Comparisons have been drawn between Scott and Cardinals base-stealing legend Vince Coleman, emphasizing their shared speed and base-stealing abilities. While Scott is not viewed as a power hitter, his offensive game is built around making contact and utilizing his speed on the basepaths.

As Scott adjusts to big league pitching, he is currently hitting .111 with three hits in 18 at-bats. Despite the early struggles, Scott's potential as a valuable contributor to the Cardinals is evident, with a scouting grade of 55 indicating his above-average skills and tools.
