St Kilda will challenge the two-game AFL ban handed down to star veteran Paddy Ryder.
The ruckman was offered a two-game suspension for engaging in rough conduct against Hawthorn youngster Will Day during the Saints' 69-point win at the MCG on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Day was helped from the field and substituted out of the match at halftime with concussion.
Ryder's actions were assessed by the match review officer as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.
The 34-year-old will front the AFL tribunal at 5pm on Tuesday in a virtual hearing.
"We had until 11am this morning to assess the MRO's original decision, and feel this is the best course of action to undertake," St Kilda's chief operating officer Simon Lethlean said.
Saints coach Brett Ratten said post-match the bump looked "pretty fair" after watching replays of the incident.
St Kilda will be desperate to have Ryder available for upcoming games against Gold Coast and GWS after moving to a 3-1 record to sit fourth on the ladder.
Meanwhile, Carlton defender Nic Newman has been charged with wrestling the Suns' Ben Ainsworth during the Blues' loss on Sunday.
Newman has been offered a $1500 fine by the MRO.
