St Johnstone WFC general manager Mark Nisbet has highlighted the impact a big backing gives players at the Riverside.
And he is sending out the rallying call for even more supporters to head down and be treated to “exciting and entertaining” action in a welcoming environment.
Saints, who had their game called off last week due to a frozen pitch, again welcome Boroughmuir Thistle this Sunday (kick-off 1pm).
“There is no doubt the additional support has a big impact for everyone involved,” Nisbet explained to the PA.
“It really is a boost to the players on the field when they can see and hear the encouragement from the sidelines.
“It also brings the added financial help which is always welcome and, in turn, be reinvested to support what we are trying to do at the club.”
Nisbet continued: “I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone along to the game as I believe they will find an exciting and entertaining game each and every week.
“We have a group of players who are fully committed to improving and being the best they can be and I think that is completely reflected in their performances.
“It’s a welcoming environment for anyone and I would just say to people to come along and give it a try. I have no doubt they will have an enjoyable afternoon if they do.”
Nisbet says, despite the Boroughmuir game getting called off last week, the squad is fully prepared and itching to get out on the field of play.
He said: “Obviously with conditions not being ideal in various parts of the country we tasked the players with doing a little bit of work away from the club environment which they all completed, so that kept us ticking along.
“It was frustrating that the game had to be called off as we had a good week’s preparation but that has now carried forward into this week and we can build on that.
“The players have been excellent in taking the information on and putting it into the way we want to play and I see that being no different this week.”
Saints currently sit fifth in the Scottish Women’s Premier League 2, one spot ahead of Boroughmuir.
