A St Helens community has announced its exciting plans to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.
The ECHO reported last month how the ‘High Street Hive’ had been formed by businesses in Newton-Le-Willows in an attempt to band together and "bring the buzz back" to the area. The committee has planned a day full of events in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee for the community to enjoy.
From 12pm on Saturday June 4, High Street will be lined with stalls, games and food and drink. Committee member and owner of Drinkworthy, Mike Roberts, told the ECHO: "We want to completely fill the street with things going on."

The Hive have even gained permission from St Helens Council to close off large areas of the road to cars. The events are set to run from 12pm-6pm.
The Pied Bull will be kicking off events with a brass band performing on the pub's balcony from 12, with a DJ and band to take to the stage later in the day. Speaking about the formation of the Hive, chairperson, Louise Hewett, of Jump-Pad estate agents, told the ECHO : "It's a collaborative effort and we really just want to strengthen the community - it's a community centred idea and we hope to bring people together."
A stall will also be set up by charity DKMS, who work on bone marrow transplants for blood cancer patients. They will be offering free tests for people to join the blood marrow donor register.
Some of the other events on offer include a raffle held at St Peter's Church with all prize items awarded the queen's warrant, bouncy castles, hook a duck, and a butchers/burger van outside the Pied Bull Pub.
